RealTemp is BS (or isn't)

It reported my temps at 71 65 64 65 then i switched off Prime95 and they dropped straight to 51 43 44 45. Plus my bios says 43 when RealRemp says 71

Real temp is reading your core temps, the bios is reading you overal cpu temp they are 2 different temps.

Either way only take what realtemp, coretemp, speedfan or any temp sensing program tells you as a guide, as they can not give u a 100% accurate reading, not even bios temp readings are 100% accurate.

Both of those are normal. RealTemp reports core temps, which will drop very quickly as soon as there's no load on the CPU. Your BIOS will report socket temps, which are always lower than core temps.

Ahhh, but if their not 100% accurate, what program are you using that is 100% accurate, so you then know that realtemp, coretemp, speedfan etc readings arent accurate???? :p.

Its like the chicken and the egg!

This is correct..

Also once a load is stopped the processors temps will drop quite quickly.

Ah ok thanks I understand now.

Are these OK temps for an overclocked Q9450 with Prime95 running for an hour. They look a bit high to me
