realy stupid question

im buying a new pc, im unsure bout this thermal paste stuff, do i need to buy some if im fitting the standard heatsink and fan? or does it come with it? or is it already on the heatsink?

It will already be applied to the heatsink mate

can always change it though. arctic silver will of course be better

Other stuff from arctic silver etc. will give better results and cooler temperatures, but it will be fine by using the standard stuff.

i always used to swear by artic silver, but when building a PC for a friend at uni we didnt have any and used the white grease.

PC was fine, im sure a few more degrees could have been dropped with good paste, but the OC limit wasnt the temp, it was his lack of balls!!!

his 1.8 3800+ was less than 50 at load, he wouldnt let me take it past 2.4!!!
