Rear Number Plate Lamps

My mini current has no rear number plate lamp.
do i require one for the MOT ?? there is no hole for it! and no obvious place that i could fit one without damaging the body work
Yes you do.
You can get LED numberplate bolts if that helps. As the battery is in the boot should be easy to rig up quickly.

on older mini`s the numberplate light was on the carrier plate that you put the number plate on
on the newer mini`s it was on the boot itself
sounds like someone has took the carrier plate off and just put the numberplate straight on to the car

It is compulsory to have a rear number plate lamp. You will have to fit one.
I have a similar situation. 1988 car, fitted with replacement front wings from an earlier car - so it has no side repeaters. I have to cable tie side repeaters to the wing mirrors for the MOT.
