hi guys, about a week ago now i managed to throw my bike down the road, i needed new pedals and used the opportunity to get some adjustable rear sets.

they arrived today and all went well until i had to fit the rear brake.

basically the rear sets are supplied with an elbow joint to connect to the master cylinder, however i can't seem to remove the old 'U' piece that is there, i've tried googling but my searches fall short.

any hints or tips?

i can post photos if that helps?

it's a 2012 triumph street triple r

and the brakes are nissin.

ok, so if a picture is 1000 words, then this should be worth 10-20 :p

any more info you need, just shout, its my days off now. feel free to pass the link to anybody who may also know lol! i want to get some miles on the clock in the sun before we get drowned again!!!

yeah, i had seen that site and used it for a few pieces.

is the bit for the street triple its not much different but looks even more of a pain in the arse job as it looks like it goes all the way through the cylinder.

i'll go have a look through the box again see if i have missed something. like an instruction manual.

edit:

found instructions. not useful. just says attach elbow joint. hmm. going to run here to the triumph dealer and see if they can help at all. camera is not taking good shots in the light at the moment, will try for good photos later when the sun drops a little.

on the inside of the 'u' clip it looks as tho it is threaded all the way through and also the bolt looks as tho it is a slightly different metal to the 'u' clip.

ps. any hints for taking apart the rear master cylinder, the top bolt won't move either where the brake lines attach and this is where i need to attach the pressure sensor for my rear brake light to work lol.

cheers again guys.

ok guys, sorted that, it was a separate piece. the instructions for the arrow upgraded rear set explained it nicely.

the part is actually called a "clevis"

cheers
