The rear window is starting to lift in a mk1 Focus. In heavy rain some water beads down the inside of the window and I can pull it away a couple of mm and see a gap.

Any reason not to remove it and have a go with one of the bonding kits (ones with the primer, sealant etc.) for around £15?

Have been giving it a read up and see people stating it can be a faff and "leave it to the experts" but these are talking about front windscreens, this is a rear window on a 20 year old car and it looks straight forward from what I can see.

Anyone know a ball park figure for a pro to do it (remove, clean off old sealant and replace)?

Not the same but a windscreen replacement is £90 supplied and fitted for a tranny van so I doubt it will cost all that much to sort your back window out if the glass is fine

Problem you have is, if you break it while taking it off your in a bit of trouble if it rains

Yeah, maybe not worth the risk of it shattering in this weather.

Just got a quote of £80 done on the driveway. Am willing to stump that up.
Need to check though that if they break it, they cover it!

Cheers

Did it on my mk1 Focus rear quarter window 3 years ago and it's holding up fine. Masterbond? Remove old adhesive with a sharp chisel, primer both the glass and body, stick on with polyurethane adhesive, leave to dry.
