I have a BFG 8800gt graphics card which would shut down after about an hours gaming totally and the only way to get it working again would be to wait 20 to 30 mins ,i gave up on it and brought a 8800 gts which as been ok these last couple of months.
I dug it out to put into my wifes upgrade as shes not a gamer i thought i'd take the stock cooler off and put a Vortexx NEO on as it's quite cheap , now the mess i found was amazing hardly any tim on the chip and the white sticky pads seemed to be covering everthing including the back of the fan , sorry for the long story but would this be the reason for the cards shutdown originally or could it be a duff card , i'm waiting on the pc bits before i test it
