I think everybody understands that apple products are extremely overpriced what does this actually have to do with i5 i7 ? you dont need to make bad excuses for ranting about apple, its perfectly acceptable that apple has annoyed you !

For a I5 3570k at the moment is £173.99 and I7 3770k which im getting is £251.99 which is only £77 differentwhich i am prepared to pay for that extra umph if and when i need it.

But this was just a little rant of itunes and apple and ipad. Im sorry if it seems poinless. Be happy dont hate me...

You're not going to see any extra "umph" unless you are doing things that use the hyper-threading, which basically means certain professional applications, such as video encoders and 3D renders. In everything else the performance will be more or less the same as an i5 and in some cases worse. This is why people say not to get an i7.

I think you need to do more research before you buy things, the way you are going at the moment is just going to lead you to another iPad scenario.

are you mad if you hate your IPAD that much sell it get some of your money back and get an android this rant was totally pointless and your logig behind getting an I7 is pointless as well if you are not going to be utilising hypertheading whats the point you will just be using an I5 so you might as well go for one of them instead.

What does this rant mean?

The reason you would buy an i7 over the i5 is you will use the hyper threading (Heavy Video editing, rendering and the like)

or.... you can afford too.

If none of them are aplicable its not really value for money, its less value for the money.

Are you just trying to say apple aren't value for money? If so you may have contradicted yourself a little.

when i feel the need to upgrade from my i7 920, ill get the latest i7 purely because i cant bring myself to go from i7 to i5 and remove the i7 sticker from my case, even though i dont use hyperthreading at the moment..but you never know with new consoles on the horizon games are only going to get more threaded.

i remember when i got a core 2 quad 9450 everyone was saying it aint worth it and a core 2 duo e8400 would be better as games dont use more than 2 cores - 6 months later - lots of stuff making use of 4 cores!

There's a reason I don't own a laptop any more. I have a tablet. It is actually an iPad, but to be fair, the statement would be valid for most tablets.

P.s. If you really wanted people to bite you should have gone into the Apple Harware Sub-Forum to rant about the iPad...
