Reasonable use

Afternoon,

Around 12 months ago i purchased a vax upright vacuum cleaner from tesco.

It uses fitters on both the motor and the main tank.

It no longer sucks due to the filter being full so i figured id order some new filters again to fix. Turns out that they no longer make this filter type.

I am a bit annoyed as i expect to receive a reasonable amount of use out of a vacuum before it needs replacement. My dyson lasted many years before i changed to the vax.

As my unit is now obsolete in a meer 12 months. I feel this is unjust.

Is there any way i can receive some come back. I.e. do i contact the manufacturer or the retailer.

What legislation would i be able to use to accomplish this?

Maybe i am being unreasonable ?

Many thanks

Thank you for the replies. The model is

I bought it from tesco as the Dyson decided to die mid clean up when decorating when I moved into my new home. I had to go to Tesco as it was the only shop open at 10pm. The filter kit states it needs a type 96 which I can't find.

I am not sure washing will work, the reason for it being so clogged was I had a bright idea to vacuum out the ash from my log burner which promptly clogged the filters and sent the ash around the room from the vacuum vents.
