Reasonably decent Skype setup required.

Hi guys,

My Dad wants to take the plunge into the wonderful world of Skype

I'd like to set him up with a 'reasonably priced, high quality' phone and webcam combination.

However, I haven’t the slightest idea where to start? I've got absolutely no idea when it comes to this area of IT/comms so I thought I’d ask the experts for some advice and recommendations etc.

He's on a 2 MB connection btw.

Just get a webcam with built in mic and job done!
I've been using a £15 microsoft one for the last 2 years, and it does the job perfectly.

built in webcam/mic/speakers on laptop here and have called mobiles/landlines all over the world never a problem

And if there was a problem it was due to skype deciding to be crap for 5 minutes rather than my hardware!

So I'd take that as anything is up to the task

I've been asked by a friend to set up a Skype webcam, however, she only has a USB 1 equipt computer. Would a webcam work on that,or should I fit a Skype phone.
