Reasons to get Windows 8.1?

So...you have the upcoming DX12, which I think will only work on 8/8.1, for windows Phone 8 devs you can only use 8/8.1. What other software technologies from Microsoft are coming that will need 8.1 only?

Update 1 has these features,http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinions/windows-8-1-update-1-features-a-closer-look-at-what-s-new ,don't forget we have update 2 down the road(I believe September) which will bring back the old Start menu.
