Reassure me please (dumb question incoming)

I can't believe I'm asking this, but if I sell an old fileserver on Ebay or similar without any hard drives installed in it... there's no risk of the person who buys it doing anything shady in terms of recovering any information off of it is there?

As far as I know the answer is no of course not... just want to be sure

Haha that's fine, I don't think there was ever anything incriminating on there, but some financial files and at points probably text files and things containing passwords (yes, a bit silly I know)

I guess you can alway try take a HDD out..

And if you have a spare one, putting that in..

I think you're right, it is a silly question but i understand you wanting peace of mind.

Most probably it will be very very very very hard, can't imagine anything large enough to hold a decent amount of information without a HDD anyway.
