right my brother has just got a new case for his computer so i went ahead and swoped the inards over in to the new case. the way his mother board was layed out bent i couldnt plug the floppy drive in, so as he didnt use it i didnt bother trying to fit it. i also left out and modem and a tv card which he no longer uses.
anyway after turning it on for the first time i recieved the message

"reboot and selct proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"

also before this something along the lines of

scan devicesplease wait:
serial ch0 master not found
serial ch1 master not found

in the bios it states the primary ide master is the dvd drive
then when i go in to boot priority the dvd drive is seleccted first if i try to change it there are no options there such as the hard drive.

could anyone give me some advice please im a bit lost as what to do now

motherboard: asus k8v
hard drive: seagate sata
