Reboot and select proper boot Device

Hello,

I've searched for this issue in other threads, but I think my issue is a little different.

I just installed a new graphics card (see this thread: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18097896) and powered up my PC.

I'm running Windows 7.
My gear is:
4Gb RAM
Core2 6600 2.4ghz
On a p5w64 Asus

Now I keep getting "Reboot and Select Proper boot device". I have been able to boot off another drive, so I think the drive somehow got borked in the upgrade process. I have no idea how, apart from the fact that I have partitioned the drive I'm trying to boot from - perhaps something is corrupted.

Could you please suggest ways of saving this disk and install? Is there a recovery method I can follow?

I partitioned the drive several months ago using Disk Management in Windows. The errors have just occurred.

I've just tried using the recovery console and now have:
"BOOTMGR is missing".

I'll try looking at the cables again. The drive appears in POST and setup no worries.

OK - panic over!

I was able to repair the boot process with the Windows 7 recovery console. The first time I tried to do it, it wouldn't work, so I called Microsoft.

They told me to do what I'd already done and it worked! Astonishing!
