My kid turned off the PC from main switch..

It's a Windows 10 installation on a SSD. The quick repair via USB does not work and I have tried the fix boot command via CMD also.

What else can i try, really sick of this it happens once a year. I thought PC's were more robust these days. Was half way through doom eternal I don't want to format the sob.

:(

To be honest, I'm surprised it's been affected like that. PCs are prone to power cuts all the time and yet don't have these issues. It should, in theory, have just turned back on and booted normally.

Right, I disabled other hard drives now it boots fine. Now to find out which HDD is causing this ****

Arghh. Now I've enabled the ******* HDD that's causing this ****, it won't let me go back into bios. Keep saying attempting to do automatic repair.

I don't know why this crap happens, could it be dodgy motherboard I mean how could it forget which HDD it's supposed to boot into?

pull the plug from the hard drive

Yeah, that was the final option. Instead I turned all power off and then got into Bios. Disabled that drive, I am still wondering though how can the drive cause such chaos?

Sound alike there is an existing boot sector on the hard drive causing conflict, make sure your bios boot priority is correct then empty the drive and use Diskpart to clean the disk and start again
