I used to get 59 seconds with windows 7 and my sig spec, using the Restart-Time.vbs. Now I'm getting anything between 69 to 100 seconds, but mostly around 83 seconds. I disabled just about everything in start up items, including AVG, steam, daemon tools, virtual clone drive, ATI catalyst and a few things in services. I defragged over night, it was 5% fragmented on my C drive. I've done spybot, malwarebytes, windows defender. Spybot found a bunch of cookie trackers which are now fixed. I didn't finish the AVG virus scan but it did get to over 2 million files scanned, so there's probably nothing there but I'll do it again all the way through. I've run out of ideas. At one point I thought AVG was slowing things down but now it doesn't appear to be the case. Last night I did get 65 seconds boot up time once or twice, but can't seem to achieve that again. I've no idea what happened to my 59 seconds. What else can I try? CCleaner or maybe some other registry cleaner?
