Hi
Just a quick question here about a problem I'm looking at. The computer POSTS, gets past the BIOS screen and then just as it prepares to load windows reboots. It then loops and gives the options to start in safe mode, LKGC and normally.
I selected normally when I first had a look, then it gave me a BSOD with an error about the registry and config.sys. I ran a windows repair on it, and got it to boot up eventually. There were a few other issues like drivers which I resolved and things seemed to be OK.
I've come to boot it up today to finish off by installing a wireless PCI card in it and it's done exactly the same. It's a first generation Fujitsu Scaleo P and has a 350w power supply.
Things I've done to resolve the issue are:
Run a windows repair;
replaced memory and run memtest x86;
replaced CPU and fan;
loaded default BIOS settings
Now, my next course of action would be to flatten it and reinstall windows, but I think it's the power supply, however it doesn't seem to be running much for its size. Only a 150GB SATA disk, floppy, CD-ROM and ATI X300 SE, and I can't be arsed running through a whole setup and then updates if it's the case.
I haven't got a spare one to swap/test with so am just asking for other peoples opinions here without needlessly spending cash.
Cheers lads
