Due to crappy performance in BC2 from my core2duo I'm overhauling and going for a sandy, now atm I have a 280gtx and I was about to buy a 460 to replace it when I found that the fps gain is little if any in BC2 at my resolution. So I'm thinking my crap FPS in BC2 is totally down to my CPU not a mixture of my hardware being crap. Does anyone agree with me in that the change would be pointless? I don't really want to go further and spend £200 on a 560 at this time!

BC2 is quite cpu dependent, but a 280 and c2d overclocked to 4GHz+ should run it very well. That's what I've just come from to an i7/gtx580 rig, and can't say that I've noticed much improvement fps wise in this game.
Obviously an argument for you to get a new card for BC2 would be DX11.

280's are still great cards if you're not fussed about dx11 just now. Two in SLI would be even better.
May be slightly biased as I have a GTX 280 for sale in the MM
