I'm rebuilding a pc that's riddled with virus and spyware for my uncle who knows nothing about computers. Of course, he has no driver CDs or anything to do with the pc except the pc itself.

My question is, is there an easy way to list all of the hardware, make/model and drivers currently on the system? Or better still, is there a way of creating some sort of backup driver list that I can use to install the drivers once I've rebuilt it?

Cheers.

Check device manager for what the hardware is that you need drivers for ie graphics, chipset, sound and network adaptors.
Download all of the relevant drivers from the respective internet sites and save them to a USB pen (or similar)
Reinstall and then install all of the relevant drivers.

Yeh, that was the first thing I did, but th einfo in there is limited. For example the wireless adapter is a "Linksys wireless adapter" which is less than helpful. Any where you can get model numbers etc?
