Hi guys, any suggestions on how to upgrade my system? I've not really been keeping up too much with what's available so I'm not 100% on the best way to proceed on upgrading or whether building from scratch would be worth it.

My current setup is:

Silverstone PS07B Case
Asus VE228H 22" Monitor
Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H Motherboard
Intel Core i5 3750k w/ Akasa Nero 3 Cooler
Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB
Samsung 128GB 830 SSD
Crucial M4 128GB SSD
Corsair TX650M Power Supply

I don't currently have a graphics card, so need to get one! Don't like the case much, so would like to replace that. The Crucial M4 SSD seems to be dead at the moment, so needs to either be fixed or replaced. I have a HP MicroServer running as a NAS so I don't need massive amount's of storage.

Will be dual booting Windows & Korora Linux - rather have separate drives than messing about with partitions. Looking to do some light gaming (Steam list says FM14, Spec Ops, GTA4, Metro 2033), the occasional bit of web / perl development and being able to run 3 or 4 VirtualBox Instances at a time.

Aaaaand, I wouldn't say no to a new monitor or two! Budget at the moment is about £1,000.

Any help / suggestions much appreciated! Cheers!

Went with 8gb more ram for the 3-4 VMs, 2 nice 24" monitors, nice case and a 770gtx, personally found nvidia cards to have better drives then AMD on linux, but I have been reading that AMD is setting up.

Sooooo, done a fair bit of reading over the past couple of days, how does the below look?

Had to change the budget a little bit as I promised my Dad I'd buy him a copy of Windows 8.1 for his PC.

A couple of the weekly offers have expired from mickyflinn's suggestions so I've changed the monitor to the AOC which looks to be a solid screen, and I think I could get away with the 1 monitor for now letting me add more RAM + I don't think my desk will take two 24" screens!

Extra 16GB RAM rather than 8GB. Would give me 24GB in total, which should hopefully give me enough to run all the VM's I need as well as being able to have a small RAM disk - which apparently goes along way to improving the speed of FM2014.

Chose the EVGA 770 2GB card as I think the 4GB may be slight overkill at the moment but I like the idea of EVGA's step-up program - which would give me a little time to get the extra money together if I think I need the extra VRAM or memory bus.

Undecided at the moment whether go for the windowed or non-windowed 350D and fill the rest of the budget with case fans and/or braided cables. :D
