Hello everyone, hope this is in the right place.

I've been on AMD pretty much for forever, but my current build is getting a bit old so I've decided to build from stratch and go Intel. I've around £800 for the entire new build (primary use is gaming) and I just wanted some help in which direction to go. Any suggestions would be really appreciated, been catching up on my knowledge the last few days (I sort of fell out the loop) but things have changed a lot since my last build.

I was thinking an I5 Skylake Cpu (6600) is it worth the extra for the unlocked K version? Any good Mobo suggetions etc.

The last Gpu I bought was a 7950 a couple of years a go (which are akin to the R9 2XX cards right?) But I was looking at the GTX 960 and perhaps trying to stretch a bit to a GTX 970.

Basically I'd just appreciate a little direction and help avoiding pitfalls I might have over looked.

Thanks in advance!

Do you require a new monitor? OS? Have you got HDD/SSDs you will be keeping?

Sorry, I should have given more information.

I'm selling the old build as is. So I have monitors, keyboard, mouse, sound system.

I'll need everything from the case up. Mobo, SSD, HDD, Ram, GPU, PSU etc (I already have a licensed copy of Windows 7 to use).

How does this look? i5 Skylake, 8Gb DDR4, GTX970. Case and PSU both on very good deals this week only. 256Gb SSD for OS and some games, and 1Tb storage. CPU cooler was picked at random, not sure what the best budget air cooler is right now to be honest.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £816.83
(includes shipping: £0.00)

Have a read of the link below, might save you a bit of money. None "k", performing just as well a "k" Cpu. You don't have to buy the bundle, if you can get the parts cheaper separately, then you can use Bios OC save that 8Pack has posted and install it yourself.

Thank you, I heard mention of this around the internet. Was an interesting read and certainly worth looking into!

Forgot about the non-k overclocking!

Moving down to the i5 6400 should bring you just about to budget of £800!

With the 8Pack bundle would I have to flash the bio's via a pen drive as described in the 8pack thread or will the board come pre-flashed? Feel's a silly question but one worth asking haha.

Thank you, this looks real good. Will quite likely use this to work around with!

Hello!

We do actually overclock this, you wont need to overclock it yourself :)

What is going on ! You guys need to get your information together as i was told the total opposite.

If it is pre overclocked it should clearly state it on the web page.
