carnt wait to open a few of my systems in the loft  im not even going to describe what they look like i will take a piccy of one of them when i do there yearly cleanout on new years day

i know!! grr - i used to have an external usb enclosure for the drive but installing windows took ~2hours! lol

lol - and i took that first picture for something else but figured it almost fit lol

That's not dusty! Really dusty is when it falls out in huge brown clumps. I've opened up PCs that have been untouched for two or three years and not been able to do anything else to them until I've put Henry's nose in there to clean 'em up.

YOU CALL THAT DUST!!!! lol

i have had fans seize up because of dust build up, as snapshot said huge lumps are normally required before i can be arsed with a rebuild.

One the worst coolers i have had was the zalman flower cooler cos of their V shaped fins!

My Eclipse isn't too bad for dust, I use the filter on the front intake and I have a second (filtered) intake I modded into the top panel. I also covered the grill next to the PCI slots with aluminium tape. I clean the fans and filters every couple of months and it doesn't get a chance to build up too much.

My brother's pc is a different matter though, he seems to use it primarily as a dust filter for his living room. It only gets cleaned when he gives it to me to fix a problem.
