Hi there, Im trying to put windows back onto my shuttle PC but im having problems. When Booting off the XP disk after you select to setup windows it goes onto a message saying that 'Setup cannot find any drives installed on your system, make sure they are connected properly and powered on'

Its a Maxtor Diamondmax +9 160Gb Sata drive.

Any ideas would be much appreciated

yes the all cables are plugged in and working fine, basically the machine is working i was just going to re-format and make a clean build for i have to ghost 8 other machines identical to this one for work. Just never come across this problem before :(

It might depend slightly on how old your Shuttle is and what chipset it uses but have you got the SATA drivers on floppy disk to install when prompted. "Press F6 to install SATA/Raid drivers" is the prompt if memory serves during the Windows setup process. :)

That'll do the job.

right that's cool, however I don't have a floppy with the drivers, my predecessor wasn't good at organising and i cant find anything like what im after, also was at maxtors website and couldn't really find anything other than something called maxblast, would this be what im after maybe? and if so which version should i download? the bootable cd?
