yeah I'd highly recommend the mx518(had mine for 5 years now and still works perfectly!), another good alternative is Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0. Steel series are a good choice, never used the boogie pad so can't comment. Any old keyboard will do tbh,using some cheapo logitech keyboard atm. I'd suggest going for a seperate set of headphones and mic, like a pair of sennheisser hd555 or Audio-Technica ATH AD700 and a zalman clip on mic.
