As above really. I'm about to start my 3rd year computer science project over the summer. Going to be implementing a mobile order system for a sales team using PDAs.

They don't need GPS but I'd like it to play with. Needs GPRS for data transmission and SDIO for plugging in a barcode scanner.

Hopefully not too expensive!

I've been struggling to find a decent comparison site all morning.

Unfortunately for you, most new PDAphones are using mini-SD or micro-SD. You may have to consider a bluetooth barcode scanner instead.

However I have a Mio A701 which I use as a phone, sat nav and barcode scanner. I can't think of any other devices that meet your specification.

XDA Exec/i-mate JASJAR is what you need. SIDO compatinle, and still pretty decent. However its not small....

I believe the HTC Advantage has a SIDO slot too! (Two of them!)

xda exec doesnt seem to have gps and it does look a little on the large side.

The HTC advantage will cost a fortune.

I'm seriously considering an orange SPV m700 (htc 3600?). It doesnt have sdio but a bluetooth scanner could be used instead of an sdio one. Only thing i really wish it had was a keyboard!

I have an M700 (as you say it's also badged as the HTC P3600 or HTC Trinity) I've been using Pocket PCs since the original iPAQ 3600 and this is the best one yet. I was originally using an MDA Vario (HTC Wizard) and I do miss the keyboard but the built in GPS makes up for it. I have found it to be very reliable and once it's connected to the Satellites it keeps them even when I'm indoors sometimes. The 400Mhz CPU makes a difference compared to the Vario and it can connect to GPRS, 3G, HSDPA and (I think) EDGE because I keep getting an E appear on the screen which I haven't checked what it means yet.

As it can be purchased for free I would definitely recommend putting it high on your list.

I got the spv m700 free from orange on a £25/mo plan + they're giving me £100 credit on my account for any old handset I take in whether it's working or not! Awesome deal. Loving the phone. Just waiting on 6gb of mini sd cards I ordered then I can start playing around a bit more.

The lack of a keyboard is disappointing but the features more than make up for it. Very nice piece of kit.

PS. I highly reccomend the martin fields screen protectors over the piece of crap they give you in the box that just gives you a bubbly screen
