Hello!

I am in market looking for an SSD. The motherboard is :

Motherboard : GA-Z170XP-SLI

Storage Interface
Chipset:
  1. 1 x M.2 Socket 3 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280 SATA & PCIe x4/x2/x1 SSD support)
  2. 3 x SATA Express connectors
  3. 6 x SATA 6Gb/s connectors
  4. Support for RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, and RAID 10
    * Refer to "1-8 Internal Connectors," for the supported configurations with the M.2, SATA Express, and SATA connectors.

I currently have one Samsung 250GB (850 EVO SSD) plugged in. Correct me if I am wrong, but the M.2 are slotted into PCIe slots (In which currently sits my R9 390).

So something around a max £150 would be great. Space wise anything over 256 GB should be enough.

Cheers!

Go with another 850 EVO or Crucial MX300 if you want capacity. You can get a 500GB EVO or 525GB MX300 with your budget. If you want an M.2 NVMe SSD then you will only be able to get a 250GB as the larger capacity models are over £200. The Samsung 960 EVO would be the one to go for in this case. It plugs into the M.2 socket (Between the top pcie slot and cpu). It won't affect the gpu.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £518.67
(includes shipping: £8.70)

Thanks guys. The purpose is mainly to have a nice dev environment on Arch linux. Running it on VM is laggy and choppy. Pulled the trigger on 850 500 GB
