My current logitech keyboard has been having the most annoying bug for ages (the one where sometimes it adds random characters  ). I've been trying for months to get it fixed on the logitech forums, loads of people seem to have it and logitech have done nothing to fix it so finally I'm fed up... please recommended me a NON LOGITECH keyboard & mouse!

Thanks

The best thing you can do is to try a few but what is your budget here?

I generally recommend Microsoft keyboards - long lasting, reasonably cheap and they have the best action (for my money) that I've ever had the pleasure of using. The re-released Microsoft Intellimouse V3.0 is supposed to be pretty decent as well, the original was awesome for the time. :)

How could I try a few? Umm budget-wise I think around £50 but I could probably stretch to a bit more :D. I do like the functionality of my current logitech lx 700 (volume & media controls, application buttons etc) but I'm assuming thats fairly standard on most media keyboards these days? One thing, it has to have a removable wrist support thing since my desk already has a non-removable wrist support which would get in the way.

The Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 looks good.

Out of interest what keyboard do you have?

i know you said no logitech but i have just bought the logitech g11 gaming keyboard and it is bloody amazing! can't fault it... all of my microsoft keyboard wear down and feel flimsy but this... wow!!!

what are you using it for? if its just standard usage then you can pretty much pick and choose, however if you are looking for performance usage, then some of the higher end ones are worth looking at.

If i was buying a keyboard today, i'd go for one of these

and for me you cant beat a logitech mouse, but you dont like those.

In fairness, for something that is so dependant upon your personal tastes, go and check out the display models in a store before you buy online, that way you can find a setup you are comfortable with in real life, not just one that looks nice on the screen.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I currently have the Logitech LX700 - which I really like, its not that I dont like logitech stuff! but it does have the most fatal annoying flaw, that it inserts random keys after like an hour of use or when I play games (which is especially annoying). Thing is, its not just me and its not just this keyboard.. loads of people on the logitech forums seem to have it with a range of different keyboards which makes me reluctant to purchase another logitech one.

Speedlink Ultra Ally jobby but OcUK don't stock them anymore so BAH !!!

Best keyboard i have ever used, Period.
Flush lap top keys so your fingers don't get caught when thrashing an FPS. Weighty so never moves. Damn hard wearing as well, if i can't kill one in over a years use i doubt you could.

Remember how much you paid for yous? And was it the black version, as wondered how well the the black paint lasted?

Nope mine is the brushed Silver model & it cost a little over 20 quid
As most know i thrash at BF2, over 2000 hours logged of brutal Fps action, plus check my post count for proof of my Extensive Spammage. This keyboard is not only superb to touch but unbelievably strong.
I cannot recommend it highly enouth.
