Sup everyone... can someone please reccommend me a router ( not very good when it comes to routers) that will support 20mb connection. Am currently with virgin i will need a wireless router for the laptop, xbox 360 aswell. Need something that will give a good signal out. will appreciate the replies

Thanks ::D

I'd go with the open source linksys just got my hands on one and it works a treat. very easy to setup

yeah like others said I'd get one that supports open stuff like tomatoe or dd-wrt.

I bought a dlink 655 for the n type protocol and should have saved myself 60 odd quid and get a bog standard one.

Whatever you do stay away from Belkin. I had one (its gone in the bin) and so did my parents the wireless used to drop out and I could never seem to transfer anything internally between computers

what does that firmware give me that my standard linksys one doesnt? plus the page you linked to is foreign. either that or my eyes need testing.. again :p

LOL the page is half Portugese and half English, iirc. Look at the end of every Portugese sentence and you'll see the English translation ;)

The firmware has TONS of things the official firmware doesn't. Updated kernel, extra modules, newer busybox, a wifi scanner, custom scripting, better contrack and upnp (deals with torrents etc 100x better than DD-WRT and official FW), bandwidth logging, CPU overclocking, QoS... The list goes on and on :D

haha didnt see that my bad, I will have to give this a go I think how hard is it to flash the router successfully? dont want it to stop working and the missus to remove vital body parts because she cant go on msn or whatever she does

Flashing routers is a very easy process. Usually you just use the web interface, click "browse" to select your firmware and then leave it for a few mins (DO NOT UNPLUG UNTIL IT IS DONE).

I second that. I picked up a second hand zyxel and it wee's all over my old belkin from a great height.
