Reccomend me a web host

I'm starting a small gaming website/forum for myself and friends, so I'm looking for a web host but I don't know which to go with nowadays.

I was considering 123reg because I have used Tsohost in the past, but their FAQ seems to imply that I can't have my own domain name unless I transfer it to them. And I'll probably use godaddy for my domain name, so I'm looking for hosting which lets me use my own domain name without transfering it.

So can anyone please reccomend a reliable, good VFM host in 2026?

Namecheap are pretty good as an all in one provider for small scale stuff.

I doubt that's the case re own domain. You just have to change the nameservers on the domain name to point at the new host.

Clook.net are very good for php hosting with good support.
