what are the best value surround sound speakers avilible at the moment?

i am looking for some with really good sound clarity, but also with the ability to turn the bass right down so i do not annoy the rest of the people living in my house

The Creative GigaWorks 5.1 G500 THX Pro Gamer Speakers are good. Not sure what your budget is if any but you could be looking at about £100.
 
Well, he said value, and pointed a £100 sound card + speaker combo. So I doubt he is looking for the Gigaworks range ;)

To be honest, the Inspire range are not that inspiring compared to higher end speakers. But there are not many branded surround speakers that cheap. And the Inspire won't exactly lose to some completely generic set.

If that's your budget, it is not a bad buy. The sound card is decent enough to power some entry level audiophile headphones later on if you want better quality for music.. on a budget.

no, no im not that limited to cash, maybe around £175 max, just thaught it looked like it might be a good deal
