Reccomendation challenge!

Right, my gf has a semi-decent laptop, and would like some games.

Rayman Raving Rabbids works ok on lower gfx settings, but I can't get Psychonauts to work at all, says it can't find/load Direct3d device or something (I have tried updating the graphics drivers and DirectX)

Core Duo 1.7Ghz
1GB RAM
Intel 950 onboard gfx (boooo!)

What should she be able to run on ok settings?

No FPS games, she prefers RTS, platform or puzzle games.

Sims 2 would cripple onboard graphics, my ex's old machine with a 6600LE struggled.

Not sure if she is keen on Sims, will ask though.
 
sim city maybe i know the earlier versions werent to demanding otherwise age of empires, star craft, maybe sam and max, grim fandango, monkey island?
