Alright lads, I'm new to the world of Apple and looking for a Mac book priced at around the £1200 mark I need it to be a good all rounder. Any reccomendations?

Well the question basically comes down to a top end macbook or a bottom end macbook pro. In my opinion, if it's your primary machine, then you'll want the extra screen size on the macbook pro - otherwise just get the macbook and put in another 2GB RAM if you've got spare cash left over.

I've seen one today, 2.1ghz Dual core, 1GB RAM. Was thinking about getting that and then adding the extra 2gb of RAM, what kind of RAM would I be looking for for a Mac book?

With that spec it's not a current generation machine, this generation is 2Ghz or 2.4 Ghz only, anything last gen will be missing the far superior nvidia graphics too so steer well clear. If you have that much to spend you can get a brand new top spec macbook with an upgrade to 4GB RAM direct from apple...
