Hi guys, I'm off snowboarding in Bulgaria in a couple of weeks and thought it might be cool to video some of it... Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations? The base Rollei version (5S?) 'only' seems to record 2.5hours due to the battery life, which would probably be enough but would be cool to have more? SD card space is not an issue (have a couple of high capacity cards already) but what about batteries and charging on the Rollei? Will have a tablet with us, but not on the slopes (galaxy tab 2) which I can clear cards with so the battery life & charging is my main concern. Also as I'm learning, what are the Rollei's like when it comes to toughness/shock proof?

I'd probably be helmet mounting it for ease (as it comes with one) as won't have a backpack to strap mount it. Helmet & board will be rentals.

Thought I'd ask here before in Camera and Video :)

GoPro prices aren't that bad at all. The 3 is amazing, but the 2 and 1 are still great bits of equipment that can be picked up at reasonable prices because they are superseded by the 3.

GoPro 1s are a little hard to come by now, but a GoPro 2 is a good choice if you are concerned over the price of a 3.

I have quite a few action cams and would probably go for the sony as10/as15 for this.

1. Ski goggle mount.
2. Its quite cheap ~£110 for as10
3. Image quality is excellent.
4. Image stabilisation actually works.
5. Can do 60fps at 1080p BUT it also has 120fps at 1080p mode which means you can get some amazing super slowmo vids of jumps etc. I use it when mtb'in its pretty awesome.
6. Changeable battery which are cheap (about £4 in the uk) = as much battery life as you like.

Oh and the waterproof case is pretty bullet proof, I've had it fall off my motorbike at 60mph and bounce down the road for about 100ft and it was fine... if a little scratched.
