Reccommend a Joystick for X3

Just started playing X3 and reckon I could do with a joystick.

Fairly sure I played X2 with a joystick but it was so long ago I can't recall.

Bearing in mind I'll probably never use it for anything else, I only need a cheapy I think.

Any thought?

X2 was designed for a stick if I remember correctly. But X3 was designed for mouse. I think it works best with mouse anywho.

I'd go for a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Professional 1 and a gameport to usb adaptor if you can find one. Great sticks and can be had really cheap second hand ~ £15 including the adaptor.

If you've got an old rig then you might be able to leave out the adaptor.

Don't go for the old MS stick. The best stick ever in my opnion is the MS force feedback pro 2 and its usb so no adaptor needed.

I've got a very old Cyborg 3d Digital stick from Saitek and I have to say that in my experience they make the best pc joysticks/pads.

Of course, console pads/sticks with converters can often be even better

Probably not in this case, though.
