Hi Guys,

I've never had a problem with OcUk before but I just ordered a Palit 1080 Super Jetstream card. Nevermind the next day delivery was not next day but I think this card has used before. It has scratches on the front metal and a mark at the bottom right as though it has been put into a case already.

Unsure if this normal but wouldn't expect it to be. Bad choice buying a Palit card or do OcUk test the cards and put scratches on them first ?

There not huge scratches and would it expect them from use from myself.

Is this normal ? I am I being too persnickety about a card I just spent a lot money on ? I messaged support again so hopefully will get a reply.

Thanks,

Kev

Hard to tell really - its possible it was pulled out of the production line for quality testing - was the box properly sealed, etc.?

The box looks ok but the seal on the gfx card bag was really slight and the bag is slightly scuffed too. They aren't huge scuffs one the card but i'm positive this has been opened before and put into a machine. So I take it this isn't normal then ?

Oh yeah another thing, when I got my msi 290s they had the little gfx card condom things (not sure what they are called) on the ports and the board pins. This didn't have that, not sure if that's just an MSI thing tho.

Depends brand to brand and even model to model - some of my cheaper brand cards have had those on like every possible thing while I've had (definitely unopened) cards from more expensive models/brands that have like 1 on the DVI port and that is it.

I have that card, you took the protective film off the silver part? If so it should be a mirror finish. As for the other marks, not on mine and it did have the plastic protectors on connectors.

Thanks for that Grandmaster Fap! Well it definitely looks like I have a used card then. I'm really annoyed as had to save up for this and was really looking forward to using it. Now i'm probably gonna have to wait ages to return it.

Think it is ok to put it in my machine to play a game or should I just leave it in box ? I mean it's used anyway yeah ?

Did the box have a seal on it? My palit super jetstream was sealed in a box and didn't have protectors over the connectors. Not sure what you mean by the seal was slight. The anti static bags crease really easy so it is normally quite easy to tell if they have been opened before.

Ok so I installed the card as I couldn't help myself. Unbelievable difference from my crossfired 290s. Anyway I decided to take a closer look at it. I installed MSI afterburner and heaven to some benchmarks.

I noticed something pretty weird, this card is rated to have a boost of 1847 on the core yet this is what MSI after burner shows as the default (1961).

First time I have had an NVIDIA card so maybe in getting this wrong but it's defiantly running at that, i've been running heaven and the core is hitting 1962 constantly on the display.

The voltage shows as 1050mv also is this correct ???
