I've recently been given a Panasonic ZE-86 Barcode scanner and I'm trying to work out how on earth to send the collected data to my laptop (or ppc for that matter)
The spec sheet says the Ir is transmitted via the SIR (Serial Infra Red) protocol, but there is no 'pairing' as such between the devices, ie you just point it at the ir port and hit send. (It's in a non transmitting state before you hit send so xp/wm doesn't pair with the device before transmission as it cannot see it)
So basically (I assume) I'm looking for a program that will monitor the ir port without a handshake and save any SIR data sent to it in a file? (Everything I've tried so far simply doesn't see the device, it has been confirmed as working by the orig owner, who uses a proprietry software/ir package which is of no help to me of course!)
Is there anything that will do this?
Info on the ZE-86 can be found HERE
