Receiving/sending texts on pc.

Hi,

Is there any software which will alert you on your pc whenever you have received a text on your mobile?

I know i can send a text from my pc, but i dont know of a way to receive them.

I currently have a nokia 7610, but will be getting an N70 in the next few days.

If you are on Orange, you can do something like this with a product called PC messenger, however the texts aren't free. That allows you to send and recieve from the comfort of your PC via your orange account.

Whether that service is worth it for what you want it for might be a different matter though.

Well im on o2, but i was kinda after a program that just synced with my phone.

In that case the only way to do it really would be to look for a program for the phone that sends an email to your email address when you recieve a text. Not sure if such a program exists for the 7610/N70 though, and you'd need to have email setup on your phone to allow it to work, so it would still not be free....

I thought the Nokia PC Suite will allow you to send and receive texts on your PC - certainly it worked fine with an old Nokia 6210 - worth a try I think.

I use the latest version of nokia PC Suite, just hook it up (mine is via a usb cable) set a message tone and then when you here it go into pc suite and the messages section to view the new message you can reply via the software too as it just sends it out through your phone using whatever tariff you are on.

Dont know if it works with your phone though

And you obviously have to be connected via a cable or BT

just had a quick browse around on sourceforge and if u dont want to use Nokia PC suite(i recommend it for all the features) then you could always try this little program
