Recent Android / Google bugs - am I the only one?

My main phone is a Huawei P30. I don't know when exactly, but on this phone I used to be able to crop and cut videos, either downloaded or taken with the phone, using Google Photos. For some reason the app now hangs on the spinning circle when saving the video. Reinstalling the app and clearing it's data has done nothing to help.

My old contract phone, which I use as a spare, is a HTC U11. Last night I couldn't get into Settings, when I press Settings from anywhere the phone just returns to the home screen. Thinking it could possibly be to do with something I disabled, I factory reset the phone and Settings worked. Then, without installing anything else, I updated all the apps from Play Store. The problem of not being able to enter Settings again returned - great, so I reinstalled for nothing.

I want to get the U11 problem fixed first. Is there an app that will allow me to uninstall updates so the apps return to stock? I can't get into Settings at all and I had to factory reset the phone using the power and volume buttons while turning the phone on.

The P30 is a niggle because I like the ability to edit videos, but it's not something I use a lot. I'm using YouCut temporarily while, I hope, the problem is fixed. But I'd welcome any other suggestions, bar reinstalling my main phone.

Lastly I just wanted to know if anybody else has noticed any of the above after updating? Or am I just completely missing something?

Hello!
I also have the same glitch on my HTC U11, fresh from a few days now.
I found on a few other forums what the problem is apparently - a Google app update made this misbehavior. Most people report a fix, by uninstalling the updates from your Google app (from the PlayStore directly, since Settings isnt accessible).
Its a very recent (a few days) topic, so not many threads can be found on it, but its there. I just googled HTC U11 settings not working.
Hope this helps. Regards

Thanks for that, uninstalling Google does indeed seem to fix the problem. I hope Google fix this sooner than later.
