Recent games to try?

Hi,

I've just built a new PC and this is the first time I've had a modern games playing machine in ages. (Last rig was a 2100+ palomino!). What decent games have I missed? The only newish game I currently have is HL2.

Also what game demos can you try which allow widescreen resolutions? I've just downloaded Doom3 and it doesnt seem to have the option :(

Oh and I have Oblivion on the xbox so wont be wanting that :)
 
Google for wide screen gamers etc. Cant link to the site as it has banner adverts for other UK companies I notice.

The site you will come up with will tell you what games run in WS and which can be hacked to do so.

Brilliant resource.

I haven't played these but how about:

Oblivion.
X3
Call of Juarez.

and many more I can't think of. Depends on what type of game you are after really. :)



EDIT: BTW, according to "that site" Doom 3 will run in WS with a simple ini file hack. :)

You can use any resolution (as long as it's supported by your graphics driver) you like in quake3/doom3 engine games:

r_customwidth x
r_customheight y
r_mode -1
vid_restart
