Hi,

Never been a gamer so not taken much notice of the gpu market.
But now I want to upgrade to a "folding capable" gpu.

I have two queries:

1: Could you suggest some models to consider with decent value/performance ratio (Needs to be a 1900XT or higher for folding).

2: Are these latest gpu's terribly noisy?
My rig is nice and quiet.....would prefer to keep it fairly quiet.

Perhaps the heatpipe cooler models would be ok but concerned about them coping with folding.

I would assume that upgrading two rigs with something like vanilla 1900XT's would offer much greater folding performance than upgrading one rig with a 1950?

Would appreciate some feedback.

Grazi.

vaio.

I could be way off base but as I understood it folding was mainly dependant on CPU power as it is basically data crunching?

Anyway if you want a near silent X1900XT I'd probably opt for the HIS X1900XT, it has a very good Arctic Cooler pre-fitted and vents the heat out the back of the case as it is a dual height design.

Until now, yes.
Will check out the suggested card, thank you :)
