Recent Lag in Punkbuster enabled games?

Is anyone experiencing more lag then usual in punkbuster games? I play BF2142 and my FPS has shot down recently on my X1800XT, someone has found a fix over at Total BF2142.

1. Click on the start menu, click on Run.... Type services.msc.
2. Under services find PnkBstrA. Right click it and stop it from the option in the drop-down menu.
3. Now double click it. On startup type select disabled.
4. Repeat 2 and 3 for PnkBstrB.
4. Go to your windows/system32 folder.
5. Find the two files, PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe and delete them.
6. Go to \Program Files\ELECTRONIC ARTS\Battlefield 2142\pb folder.
7. Delete PnkBstrB.exe and PnkBstrK(if present).
8. Go to http://www.evenbalance.com/ind...tup.php and download the pbsetup for your operating system.
9. Install. Select game directory and update PB.

I've tried it and games run a lot faster and i havent been kicked by punkbuster at all. Give it a go and post back whether it helps or not

It seems as though it dosent work in Vista, only in XP someone has tried it in Vista and they get kicked by punkbuster.

Just to confirm that this fix does work ,did this about 2 weeks ago because it was causing major lag in Americas Army there is a big thread about this on there forums.

Did it,and tried last night not sure as i xperienced some lag just at the end of bf2142 and some lag in the beginning of ET, but that could have just been server lag.
