HI, I recently overclocked my pc but now when i startup the RAM Wont light up, wait 10 seconds and the lights come on but it does nothing. I hit the restart button and then the pc works fine?

I havnt changed the ram setting's at all just the HT and CPU from 2Ghz to 2.5Ghz and upped the voltage a bit. I was thinking the voltage of the Ram may need increasing, but i looked at the options and it's not there. It's in my manual for the motherboard and gives me the option to change the ram voltage but its not there when i look? or could it be the timing's of the ram that need changing?

I currently have (2x1GB) of Crucial Ballistix Tracers 939 Dual LED
3.0-3-3-8 with 1T/2T set as 2T
The Ram has changed now the cpu is at 2.5 the ram is at 500MHZ (250) which i believe is its max do you think the following setting would cure this?

2.5-3-3-8 with 1T < I have AMDx2

Hi again :)

The DRAM Voltage (VDIMM) option in the Overclocking Features menu is for setting the memory voltage. You may need to go as high as 2.8v for 500mhz, tho try 2.7v first.

If 3.0-3-3-8 2T isn't working then 2.5-3-3-8 1T won't work. Try 2.5-3-3-8 with 2T (tho switching to 2T has a pretty big effect on memory bandwidth on 939 systems.

yeah the prob is my Manual tells me the VDIMM voltage controll is in the Frequency menu in the bios but when i look its not there?? and the manual has picture's so all the other's are listed apart from VDIMM. i dont think i can change it?

Well I changed the Ram setting to 2.5-3-3-8 /2T and it didnt crash but it wouldn't load past "verify DMI Pool Data" so i had to change it back

the only thing i can think of is the Voltage but my Bios is not displaying it in the Frequency/voltage regulation menu, it say's its there in my Manual? is there anyway of overcoming this problem.

Also did you mean switching to 2T is bad or Good. I was under the impression that 1T was better for AMD? I havnt Changed it yet but its Default is 2T

Thanks

Yeah switching to 2T is 'bad' as you have to clock the memory much higher to get decent bandwidth.

But switching to 2T allows to to clock the memory higher than 1T eg - if you wanted to run 300x10 with the memory at 1:1 you would almost certainly have to drop to 2T. But then you may find that staying on 1T but dropping the memory divider below 1:1 and having the memory running at 200-250mhz might actually be faster than 300mhz 2T.

Ok Thanks i will try that but what about the VDIMM Option? is there any programs that can change the Voltage? other than the bios.

Ok i Changed the RAM to 1T and it wouldn't load much past Post so again i had to revert back to 2T. I think it's the Voltage but this is the final straw really no Voltage controll ? which is odd, as i can change everything else.

All i need something that can change the voltage, if such program exists.
