Hi

So I'm getting back into pc gaming after a loong break (5-6 years!). My last pc was a pIII 2.5 80 gig hard drive and a geforce ti 4200 (!)

Was just wondering if any one had any recent decent games (fps, whatever) to look at?

My main reason for getting it is Elite (though not the only reason!), so will be spending most of my time on there hopefully. Was just looking for a few recommendations for when/if I want to take a break from it.

Specs of the new pc are :-

Intel i7-4790 3.60GH
MSI GEForce GTX 770 OC 2GB
Intel 530 120GB High Perfomance SSD
8GB RAM
MSI B85I Gen 4 LGA1150
Antec ISK600 Mini ITX Shuttle Case
Antec Earthwatts EA-550 Platinum low noise PSU

Looking forward to it.

If your looking for games that look good and you can also play I would try
Farcry 3 or 4
Crysis 2 or 3
Alien Rage Unlimited

These are some the fps's I can think of there are lots of other games to try

I'd recommend Planetside 2 which is free to play, really good fps with epic size battles.

Shadow of Mordor is a fantastic 3rd person action game with depth. It cost a measly £8 in recent sales and well worth it.

Alien Isolation is an amazing game which creates real tension. Stunning visuals and sound make this one of the best PC titles in years.

There's tons of great games, and if you shop around, they can be had for mere buttons!

Have they actually fixed performance in PS2?

I remember getting 30fps in large battles with a 8350 and 680, was frustrating as hell. Thinking about giving it another try as I have a newer setup.

@OP Arma's pretty fun if you're into mil sims, loads of mods and game modes for it as well, that along with the pretty active community keeps the game feeling really fresh. Best £20 I've spent in my life.

+1 for these. There are also a lot of great indie titles out these days. It depends if you are looking to showcase your new hardware with pretty games or if you just want some his games to play.

I didn't have the hardware on release to get PS2 running at a playable framerate either. I bought a cheap 750GTX a few months back and only installed PS2 to see if it helped and wow what a difference. Everything is smooth and even with massive battles I'm getting 40-50fps with around 70+ at other times, it's a cracking fps.

@OP - I went to Mexico origin store and grabbed Dragon Age Inquisition for £17 another great game you might want to try out.
