Hi all,
I recently upgraded some components for my home PC from Overclockers: -
Kept default bios settings and PC seemed to be fine - installed Win10 and all seemed to be fine. I then used the XMP RAM profile 1 setting on the motherboard to set the RAM to the correct 2133Mhz with timings auto set and voltage at 1.65 and stopped the intel speed setting for the CPU.
PC ran fine for a few days then when starting up in the morning the keyboard and mouse had no power to them. The CPU fan, case fan, PSU fan and legacy sata drives all whirred up - but wasnt POSTing.
Holding the power button in to turn off and back on started the system back up 50% of the time - and on occasion I would get a BIOS error screen suggesting "Boot Failure Detected - possibly due to incorrect configuration - previous BIOS settings may not be compatible with current hardware state".
So I removed the XMP ram settings (setting the ram to 1333Mhz defaults) and rebooted (also ignoring this and pressing F10 to save and exit allowed POST that time only etc) - windows boots up and 80% of the time with 'underclocked RAM' I get random BSOD's such as - PFN_LIST_CORRUPT, CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION, and MEMORY_MANAGMENT
I have ran Memtestx64 separately on each 8gb stick of ram in different ports overnight with no errors - Prime 95 caused no errors.
I bought a new Corsair 550W PSU thinking that there wasnt enough power going through but this didnt improve a thing.
So now I am stuck with a system that I cant figure out what the problem is and cant be without. I cant imagine it is the Motherboard as it 'works' when it works - but deferring to all your collective wisdom to help me sort this out please?
I could probably afford a new motherboard that is compatible with the team vulcan ram and i5 if anyone can suggest or point me into the right area to find this compatibility? Or advise if I need to RMA anything.
Your help would be greatly received.
