Hi.. I am having some problems with some new upgrades I have done and I think it’s a problem with my DDR3 ram and the mother board, but I was hoping one of you guys might be able to check my bios settings and help me fine tune this problem away.
For 3 years i have been running my machine with a Q6600 and DDR2 2x2GB OCZ Gold edition XTC ram on bios version 0701 (not clocked). I play loads of games and never had a single problem with the machine.

This year I bought a new FX card Asus GTX560 TI and ran that for about 3 weeks without any form of problems whatsoever. So i decided to change the cpu and ram. I had to flash the bios to 1203 for the Q8400 to work and I changed from DDR2 to DDR3 2x4GB Kingston Hyper X Blu 8 1333MHz.

The bios was reset anyway after the flash and it picked up all my new parts fine, although I did notice on auto setup the bios had the timings set to 9-9-9-24 so i left it like that.

Anyway I started to play games etc everything was fine.. A couple of hrs went by then all of a sudden the machine rebooted. So i booted it back up again and played for at least 4 hrs (BF3) and not one problem. The next day I was playing another game .. and about 30mins in .. the game froze .. i had to reboot.. basically i get random reboots at any time playing a game.. Sometimes i can play the whole day.. leaving my machine on and running when not playing and i don’t get a single problem.. sometimes it can reboot after 40mins or 2 hrs.. But it never reboots if I am just in wins. So only on loads.

Now I am not sure if its ram causing this but seeing as a lot of people have mentioned problems with DDR3 with the P5KC, i am hitting this first cause I would be very surprised if its the cpu and I know or sure its not a heat issus as I am 38c - 41c on full load ie playing BF3 on ultra.

I also took a look on Kingston web site regarding the timings for these dimms and it reckoned they should be 9-9-9-27 so I have manually changed it to that.. I thought that solved the problem cause I left my machine on for a whole night and played 3 games during the next day and there was no problem at all.. but in the evening whilst playing .. it rebooted :( ..
I have also (just incase) updated the chipset drivers, LAN drives basically everything I can.
So after that long winded story below is my current machine spec and the settings i have.

Corsair Obsidian 650DW-1
Asus P5KC motherboard bios 1203
Tagan 580W psu

So if there are any nice over clocker wizz's out there that can see what might be causing the problem I would appreciate any help.

Also if you can see a way of maybe slightly improving my overall speed that would be cool too :)

Thanks
