Hello, I recently got this graphics card and I'm having troubles with it, I'm looking for a bit of advise/confirmation as to whats wrong before I look at sending it back, as replicating the problem is a tough one to do... I tried running furmark and although the temperatures soared into the 80's the card remained solid, however sometimes when playing games the problem pops up and it can be after hours of gaming or 10 mins, once the problem has shown its face it doesn't go, no matter how low temperatures get, until I reboot.

This is a shot of the problem in the basic catalyst control panel;

With the corrosponding temperature etc;

Both the above were after it showed playing MW2;

And a completely seperate incident playing Crysis;

Again the above shows the temperatures to be ok... my case temperatures are fine too and I've read about a bit and many conclusions lead to a faulty memory chip/s? Has anyone else had this problem and how did your RMA go? this is the second time in a row I've been burned by Sapphire... I don't want it to happen again.

Would suggest running the whole pc at stock and see if it has an effect. My top 5870 hits 85c no problem they will throttle a 95c so temps should not be a problem

Everything is at stock haven't bothered trying to overclock anything yet, the reason the ati CCC is unlocked was merely to turn the fan up and see if that made a difference, but after bringing the temps down into the high 20's I figured it didn't help :)

But if I RMA it how would the test person find it's faulty? are there any VRAM benchmarks I can try?

Does it show up in other game's, programe's? or this one only?

Drop them a webnote > OCUK Customer Service, everyone get's unlucky at some point with getting something faulty.

So far I've seen it in half a dozen different games but trying to correctly replicate the error has been a problem, I can get proof when it happens but pinning down whats making it happen is difficult. :(

You could try underclocking the graphics card memory to see if it helps.
If it does, then at least you will know what the issue is for RMA.
