What mAh and type are you supposed to use cos there's two types of rechargable isnt there, Ni-Mh and Ni-Cd?

also can u use regular rechargable batteries with the play and charge kit or do you need to shell out for an MS battery pack too?

check the manual, my guess would be nimh, but no idea what the capacity should be (they range from simething like 1200 to 3000).

Nicad are much older, lower capacity.

regular batteries work fine - I'm using some uniross 2300mAh NiMh I got from a high street catalogue store :)

But if you have the play and charge kit you already have a battery pack, or have I missed the point?

Get as many mAh as you can afford so you don't have to recharge as often. As already said, NiCd are a bit outdated and are more prone to the memory effect

i got and 8 pack of Energizer NiMh NH15AA - 1.2V - 1300mAh + charger for £19.99 at catalogue shop

seem to be working fine in my wireless controllers

i am sure someone on here said u needed a rechargable battery to go with the play and charge kit, which i was a bit  by at the time lol

Don't get 700 buggers, they'll prolly have a short span. I cycle between 2 pairs of 2700mah sony cybershot ni-mh batteries from my camera. They last ages and work a treat.

Just to confirm, I can tell you that the Play and Charge Kit contains both a charging cable and a battery pack. :)

yeah it does see i was a bit confused when i went and asked for one cos i asked if it came with batteries or what lol from reading this i thought u had to get some rechargable ones or summink :s

Ah well, I've ordered a play & charge for £14.99, better than messing around with batteries.

Ah well, I was going to suggest getting some Energiser 2200 to 2500 ma NiMH batteries and the 15 minute quick charger, damn thing is so quick you dont really notice the wait.

Charger is a little dear, but 15 minutes only!!!!!!!!.

u cant charge ordinary AA's, rechargeable or not, with a play and charge kit, the connections are totall different. besides u think ms would b so dumb? lol but u can buy 1 play and charge kit and one battery pack. batt packs are only a tenner anyway.

You're wrong. The manual with charge and play says you can.
