Rechargeable batteries

Hi there,

I am in need of replacing my current re-chargeable batteries. They are not holding their charge very well any more.

I am in need of AA and AAA batteries.

The AA are for a digital camera, with quite a high power drain (No view finder, all done through a 3" screen). I also keep the shutter open for anything up to 30 seconds, which again drains the battery!

The AAA are for a torch, Lenser P7.

Suggestions for the above? :)

Cheers,

Ian

Duracell Rechargeable Accu Supreme HR03 1000 mAh AAA Batteries

Duracell Rechargeable Accu Supreme 2450 mAh AA Batteries

are what I use. Seem to have a pretty good charge life

I like Sanyo eneloop, their overall charge isn't any better than other brands, but they don't discharge anywhere as quickly when not in use. As a result I never find myself switching on a device I haven't used for a few months to find it empty as used to be the case with other brands.

Excellent. Thanks :)

Will check out both kinds. Apparently the Sony CycleEnergy are re-branded Eneloops.

These will charge fine off a Uniross x-press charger okay, won't they? :)

Cheers,

Anything in the 2500-2900 mAh range should be good, either the well-known brands like Duracell/Eneloops or possible cheaper options from certain computer/electrical retailers (not sure if falls within competitor rules).

More importantly get a good charger, one that charges each cell separately and has the ability to refresh (full drain/charge).

Any particular charger you would recommend?

I currently have this:

Uniross X-Press 700

I'm looking at some of these batteries as I'm getting fustrated with the ones I've got and some for phones are going a bit dodgy.

Can I put things like the Duracell AAA batteries safely in cordless phones?

Cordless home phones? What batteries are in there at the moment? I remember when my home phone started going funny and dying on me after 15-20 mins (even though it was fully charged) so I replaced the existing AAA rechargeables with new ones and now it's back to normal again.

Cheers for the speedy replies! :D

That's *exactly* the problem I'm having, endlessly fustrating, especially when it's the business phone that dies as you are trying to answer it!

They are Panasonic HHR-55AAB 1.2V 550mAh AAA batteries.

1+ I use these in my Mouse and Keyboard last a long time. Better than the normal Duracell rechargeable ones.

That sounds useful as well!

Ooh, while I'm at it...do the new batteries (non discharge) need any special charger or will any do?

I have a multi charger and quick chargers currently, both by Energizer, t'would be a bugbear to have to buy another charger.

To be honest, if you are using it in your home phone then I don't think you need the top of the range 'StayCharged' batteries as it will mostly be in the charging stand, no? You could try the mid range 'Supreme' or the lowest range 'Rechargeable Accu'

Most chargers can charge other brands of batteries - it's pretty much the same product and does the same thing. However, Duracell does have a disclaimer that says:

Duracell said:
Please note that Duracell cannot guarantee the quality, safety, or performance of other battery brands used in our chargers.
So I would imagine it's probably the same for Energizer.

This is the charger and batteries I've been using for the past 3 years:

With that charger you can recharge, discharge, refresh and test you batteries. You can charge at different current levels and charge AA and AAA at the same time.
