Rechargeable battery mAh question

Would a big rechargeable 2500mAh D battery last longer then a small rechargeable 2500mAh AA battery if both were being used to power the same item ??

No. The physical size of the battery doesn't affect the performance.

That what i was thinking...

But It just doesn't seem to compute in my head that a little AA battery can last the same as a big C battery when you look at them..
