Recharging Canon Batteries

has any used some thing like this,

I still use the Canon supplied mains charger which of course needs a wall power socket.

For travelling a USB charger would be very usful as I have a 5 port USB power adpter. With output up to 2.4amps which enough for Tablets. I have even charge my Sony NEX 5R with the 5 port power adtper.

Just note that a USB charger will take considerably longer to charge than the wall outlet. So if you have time on your hands, then go for it. but as you want convenience, you probably also don't want to have to wait longer for a charge cycle to complete!

The Canon wall charger outputs at 8.4V 1.2A and standard USB output is typically 5V 1A.

The specs for the one you posted are quite strange.



How can something output more power than it is taking in? Has it found the holy grail of energy generation?!

I'm tempted to get one and attach the USB power meter to check it out and see what's what.

I have a Mu Duo 2 port USB folding 3 pin plug which has an output of 1.2amps and Samsung wall 3 pin USB charger with I believe an output of min 2 amps. Plus I take on holiday a Anker 5 port USB charger with each port having an out put of 2.4 amps per port.
I now charge my Samsung Smart phone, Tablet, AA eneloop rechargeable batteries and my Sony NEX 5R. All from one wall plug socket or USB cable in a car. It is one of the best things I have ever purchased for holiday.
Can my Canon LP-E6 can also be charge via USB, if so this will mean I can travel even lighter !
