Recognises 2GB but not 4GB

Nossmayo - you seem correct. If it boots with stick A , but not with Stick B then I'd suggest stick B is knackered. Memory mapping management is some bios option that you _might_ need to use to 'see' all 4 Gigs in Bios.

BTW, @shauncr91 It's not a concept of 'half a stick of ram', it's a limitation of a 32Bit operating system.

A 32 Bit operating system can only address 4Gig's of memory. Sadly this 4Gig includes graphics, sound, ports etc and then Ram. Therefore, if you have a 512Mb GFX card you'll probably only see 3.25 gig of Ram in Windows.

The Solution is to use a 64 Bit OS, for example Vista 64. (Windows XP 64 had SERIOUS lack of drivers so stay away).

Happy to help.

I cant see it being anything else to be honest. Is it possible to send it back? Do you think they would accept and change it i mean? Alternatively, should i chance buying the same RAM again or is there a decent alternative? I'd like to complete my first build as i intended, which was with 4GB, although as previously stated i am currently not having any problems running it with just 2GB.

Do you want memory that does this ?

They also do 1000mhz at that speed its just im currently temp limited becuse i run 1/1 at all times :D

they also do

4.4.4.8 T2 @1066 & More though i would have run run out of sync to get there
there really isnt much point though as 1/1 on intel chipsets with tight timeings and as high mhz you can get is the way to go. rather than amd that requires raw mhz.

i thought this memory direct, and also they use micron d9 Interconnects
